Hello out there?
Hey guys, I wanted to do a general post. Who is moderating this community? I know we're not as active as we used to be, but now we have trolls coming through here, telling us to clean our colons and voting for alcoholic beverages.
Help me out here; I don't want whomever this is in the comm, but I can't figure out if it's possible to delete an entry that isn't my own. I know we haven't been moderated (R.I.P.), but does anybody know if it's possible to become a moderator after something like this happens?
Hope to talk with y'all soon, and maybe you won't ignore this posts like we have ignored the comm in the past,

I have a feeling no one will reply to this but..anyway, I figured it was worth a shot.
I'm transferring to Cedar Crest in the fall, and I couldn't be more excited! I'm currently at IUP now...so lame.
I know I won't have to chose which dorm I want to live in for awhile, but I was wondering which were the best ones.

Free Kittens (Lehigh Valley, PA)
I work at a vet and recently we got 2 sets of kittens in 3 brothers (one of which i have, wish i could take the other 2. The other set are 2 boys and a girl. They desperately need homes or will be going to a farm
The first set are feline leukemia/FIV negative and have recieved their first set of shots. Their names are currently Sammy and Dean (can you tell we are supernatural fans?!). They are super affectionate and very curious. We would perfer them to go together and their picture is behind the cutEDIT: THESE BOYS HAVE HOMES. THIS POST IS OVER 1 YEAR OLD NOW.
The second set are not tested or vaccinated and a little on the shy side (we're working on them). Their names are Bo, Luke and Daisy (we're also dukes of hazzard fans). They came from a farm where the farmer was catching them and drowning them. Dont have a pic of these guys yetTHESE CATS ALSO HAVE FOREVER HOMES
If you know of anyone looking for a kitten contact me and I'll get you more information

hey! Sorry to be posting so much.
I have a quick question. I'm leaving here and going to Newburgh, NY... I usually take 78-287-87 but I really hate those roads. A lot.
I'm trying to find a different route- and I talked to Dean O'Neill but she wasn't totally sure. I want to try taking I-476 to (81?) to 84 and taking 84 to newburgh. I was wondering if anyone knew of how to do that- like I think I can find I-476 but then where do I get on 81 and is it 81 S or N? I'm just really confused- if anyone takes that way and knows how to get from 476 to 84 please let me know! Thanks! :)
ooh, is 476 usually really busy? Just wondering...

I don't know if it's ok to do this on here, but ...
I took Music 101 with Dr. Birney this semester, and I want to get rid of the book... I'm never going to use it again. Oh, and there's all of the Cds with it. I'll sell it for a great price. You name it and I'll tell you if it's ok! It's really expensive in the book store so - this would be a great chance.
Comment here if you would like!
(you can delete this post if it's not ok to put on this community!)

An email just went out...
To Members of the Cedar Crest College Community,
A new president for Cedar Crest College has been chosen by the Board of Trustees. The new president will be on campus on Thursday, April 19, at 11:00 a.m. and will be formally introduced to the entire Cedar Crest Community.
The event will be held in front of Blaney Hall. In the event of inclement weather, we will gather in the Blaney Hall Lobby. I encourage everyone to attend and welcome our new president to Cedar Crest College.

Hey! it's me again!
I'll be joining you this semester, after all! I'm so excited!! I'm living in Moore 322 with someone named Jocelyn. I think she is transferring in, too, but I don't know. Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting you ladies!
ahhh! Sunday can't come soon enough!

I posted on here awhile back - about transferring.
I didn't know what I was going to do, so i never finished applying (I need to send in my transcripts from when I took college classes in HS, which I'm doing today). Last night, after I broke down in tears because I did not want to go back to RMWC (distance and other things... but mostly because I don't want to be that far away from home) - I've survived this long at RMWC but I really don't think I can handle another semester. So, I really want to go to Cedar Crest- when I visited, I loved it ... A lot. My tour guide was incredible, the psych dept. was awesome, the buildings were beautiful, etc. Ok, so enough... I'll get to the point. I really want to transfer for this Spring Semester but the college is closed until Jan. 2nd. I don't know what day you all go back, but that leaves like -- 9 days for the college to admit me, do my finaid, and get me a room.. (I'm very sure I want to go!). My admissions counselor said I would probably be admitted, so ... I'm not really worried about the admissions part. I'm just worried that CCC won't let me in for Spring semester.
Have any of you had a similiar situation? What do you ladies think - I just need something to calm me down - whether you think they won't or will. I know it goes on a rolling basis, but I don't know how far that goes... I guess I'm just really worried, because I cannot handle another semester at RMWC (or rather Randolph- because when they went coed they changed the name).
I'm sorry if this doesn't make all that much sense, because, well, I'm really worried. I just need someone's input!
Thank you very much... :)

Attention all you dorm-livin' folk.. I have some dormulent appliances for sale!
I have a little mini-fridge.. It's about waist high, black, and has a little mini-freezer. It has three shelves and a drawer, as well as can storage on the door. It's made by GE and works pretty well. I got it for about $160 last summer, and I'm asking $80.
I also have a microwave.. Fits perfectly on top of the fridge. It's black and white, and a bit older, however it still can cook the @#%@#$# out of stuff if you're not careful. I'd take $15 for it.
I'm in Slatington, which is about 25 minutes from CCC. I can deliver the nuker no problem.. I just can't carry the fridge down a flight of stairs, 'cause I have bad wrists. (It's not really heavy.) I'll drop the price to $60 if you come get it!
Any takers, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org

hello Ladies of Cedar Crest College!
I know I've posted on here before, but this time, it's pretty set that I'm going to transfer.
I'm a sophomore at RMWC, which has just went co-ed. I'm planning on transferring for spring semester, and I'm really considering Cedar Crest. It's only 3 hours from home, it's all women, and it seems pretty cool, eh?
So, I have a few questions-
Can you tell me anything about women? Academics- hard/easy/intense/able to get an A, etc? The campus? Is it gorgeous? Do you have any traditions? Campus life? Residential life? Anything at all?! I don't know where I want to go... If you can, and I would really appreciate, give me one (or a few) good reasons why I should come to CCC. Please! :)
Also, I had a 2.4 gpa last year, because of a certain class I failed. (And in general, adjusting to college life and academics.) I know that's not going to look good at all on an application, but I can write a good essay and I have lots of extra curriculars (and most likely reccomendations)... Do you suggest an interview? Do you think I can be admitted?
Thank you for all your input in advance. :)

In the Freshman Scholars class on Thursday we had met in a huge group and Maynard did a lecture. I officially love him!
He's been added to my list of cool people of CCC.

So I got the email today about the new acting provost and I was wondering if someone could tell me exactly what the provost does.
That is all. =)
Three more days!

To President Blaney...
I posted this on my journal which is flocked but I wanted other CCC'ers to read it too so I'm posting part of my memory post to her here too as well:( You will be missed...Collapse )
What memories do you have? Feel free to share if you'd like. And if anyone hasn't seen it yet, the story in the Morning Call
. While I only just finished my first year at the Crest and I didn't know President Blaney extremely well, I am so numb by receiving this news yesterday from jazzminarino
Randomly, I'd possibly like to add more CCC people to the flist (I only have like six or so?). Although I mostly post about fandom-related (my biggest one is Veronica Mars
) things, I do on occasion write about some things of a more personal nature so if you think you know who I am and want to be my LJ friend, feel free to leave a comment on my journal. (Let me know who you are too.) Comments are screened for non-friends initially.

Death in the College Community
Just to let you folks know, those of you who already go here. I know this usually isn't a site for deaths in the community, like professors and what not, but I felt this one was definitely important.
This came through the system earlier this evening.
Faculty, Staff, and Students,
It is with great sorrow that I write to inform you that this evening, shortly after 5 o'clock, Cedar Crest College President Dorothy Gulbenkian Blaney passed away after a brave battle with cancer. President Blaney was surrounded by her family and those closest to her. Although she is no longer physically here on campus, she will forever remain a part of the Cedar Crest community. No funeral services are planned at this time. Condolences may be sent to the family through the President's Office.
If I hear anything else, like when services are, I'll be sure to post them here...
... just to let you know. Current Mood: shocked

Hello everyone!! in my sleep last night I thought to myself "i should go look for a CCC community on LJ!"
ok, yeah, i'm a dork.
i graduated class of 1999 with a BS in chemistry, and i always look back on my years at CCC as the best years of my life. it's great to see that there's a community for my alma mater!
